MAMSAM mugs are primarily associated with the aesthetics of the communist Poland, but the inspiration was a German design from the 1960s. The shape, which allowed them to be stacked and stored easily, led them to be widely used. They differed from each other solely in the logos that were printed onto them which identified the institutions in which they were used.

Mikołaj Długosz, owner of the Mamsam brand, has once again made use of the model. Designers working with MAMSAM began to treat them as a medium for comments on the present times and a way to relate to current events and cultural texts.

MAMSAM mugs are embellished with contemporary patterns and released in a limited series of 50.
